JAM pedals’ unabashed distortion monster.

We pulled out all the stops to make sure the Rattler will get you all the amazing tones of great early 80s ProCo RAT® distortion boxes and put in the time and R&D to make it more responsive to picking and fretting nuances resulting in an open, dynamic, overdriven tube-amp feel!

Its asymmetrical clipping circuit, carbon comp resistors and of course the legendary LM308 chip, the featured star of this design, are the main ingredients of a great recipe resulting in the Rattler shining through any rig, whether modern or vintage.

Enjoy fat and creamy distortion courtesy of the devious snake!

ARTISTS QUOTES:

“I am particularly fond of the Rattler, as I have been on the prowl for toneful yet high-gain distortion. There are plenty of fuzzboxes out there these days (and JAM has some good ones, too) but few distortion boxes. The Rattler has that fat, creamy sound/sustain yet doesn’t have to be turned up all the way step out when full-on raging is required!” Nels Cline

“Its wide range of harmonically- rich distortion tones, combined with dynamic responsiveness, make it a great asset for anyone’s pedalboard.” GUITARIST magazine

“Where this pedal really stands out is in its amp-like responsiveness and superlative tone. The Rattler doesn’t have a bad sound in it” TONEPORT magazine

Designed by musicians, for musicians.

From vintage-inspired classics to boundary-pushing analog designs, each JAM pedal is crafted with care to inspire your sound and spark your creativity.
Designed by musicians, for musicians.

JAM pedals began in 2005, when guitarist and sonic explorer Jannis Anastasakis set out to build pedals that didn’t just sound good, they sounded alive. What started as a one-man workshop in Athens has grown into a passionate team of builders, artists, and musicians who still make every pedal by hand, one at a time.
